Welcome to the Down Syndrome parents’ support group of central Missouri!
Whether you are a parent or grandparent who has just been given a prenatal diagnosis of Trisomy 21, a parent of a newborn, or one with grown children, you are welcome here. Know that you are not alone. Here you will find:
v Announcements of upcoming play dates (see “upcoming events”)
v Contacts page. HIPAA regulations prevent medical and service personnel from sharing our information with each other. This is great, but it puts obstacles in the way of us finding each other. This is a password-protected page; contact ckbasi@yahoo.com for access.
v Links to sites of interest, both local and national–links giving information and providing stories of hope and triumph for parents who might sometimes feel overwhelmed.
v The blog (“community room”), where any member can post and ask questions of other parents. This is an unusual use for a blog—more like a list serve—but I think it should work just fine.
My hope is that we can support each other through difficult times and rejoice with each other’s triumphs. Please come and join our community. And don’t just visit, but participate!
To join, simply click on “register” under the Meta heading. Welcome to the family!
